In the Dec. 14, 2017 3:30 p.m. Chemainus Valley Courier an article was published about the new mural depicting the Kew Gardens flagpole above "Back to Britain" shop on Chemainus Road. Photographs of the pole, as well as the poles for Japan Exposition of 1922 coming down the logging roads, can be found hanging in the Chemainus Valley Museum!
Chemainus' very first hotel was on Chemainus road across the street from the Lewisville Hotel (Green Lantern pub) circa 1925.
